And Do Say a BIG Prayer for our Young Mohd. Shafiq!

On Tuesday 19th July, we (Kat, me and Hatiah) visited Mohd Shafiq at HKL where he has been hospitalised with a burst blood vessel on his right thigh. This caused his extreme pain and discomfort and we believe that his morphine consumption has been increased again. We gave to Shafiq's mother the RM 1700 that we have raised during the recent SS 19 ONE Carnival. Kat's sister in Ipoh and brother-in-law (Latuk Ramli) also chipped in with another RM 300.

Kat also showed a long banner with the names, signatures and messages written by the various donors to Shafiq. With the help of Hatiah, they tried to show how long the banner was.....but with the increased morphine in the body, he was very drowsy and he just nodded his head.

Please continue to pray for him.

Thank you and Salam

We Care & We Play Ball Too!

On Wed 27th July, Lim Ming Lee (Science 1966/67....Eng Hock's batch and School Prefect) invited the 3 of us (Hau Kiang, Merlyn and me) to have a golf game with him at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club.It was an indeed a very historic day for all of us. Firstly, this is the first time that we met up with Ming Lee since we left Anderson School in 1967. The other historic fact is that the 3 old angels finally got together to play a round of golf together despite several attempts.

In The Hole?

The Kota Permai Golf and CC is a beautiful course with treacherous fairways and very fast greens. Ming Lee is the Chairman of the Sports and Recreation Committee and he is "Uncle Lim" to everyone there. He is an Andersonian from Std 1 and he remembers the likes of WAK, Su Hwa, Ahmad Sarkawi, WPL,CFL, Thoo Poh Yik, Lim Kim Chai, etc

We had a wonderful game.....great course and perfect weather. However,I played like an old cow on heat....perhaps intimidated by Uncle Lim who played like a pro, Hau Kiang, the local Greg Norman and Merlyn who drives, pitch and putt like Tiger Woods (looks like him as well). Some action photos are attached.

Many thanks, Uncle Lim for the game and hospitality.

(the premises is on the street round the corner from my house)

Jade lives in Seattle. She is Judy Tan's sister. Remember the elegant Judy who attends Ca Care gatherings without fail, unless she is out of the country. Jade is back in Malaysia to visit their mother who has just been diagnosed with colon cancer. She told me that whilst she is here she is helping her mother heal herself by using the above technique. Emotional healing is a very interesting subject and it is an indispensable component in holistic healing.

What A Carnival in SS19! See What You Missed!

The 19 One Carnival which took place on Sunday, 17th July 2011 at Jalan SS 19/1, Subang Jaya was a great success. We were blessed with very good weather and a great turnout from our residents and friends from around the neighbourhood. There were numerous food stalls, non-food stalls, demonstrations by Alam Flora, PDRM, Bomba, Chi Dynamics and My Animal Care, an animal care activist group.

Kat and I setup a stall to sell various herbal plants, soya milk, honey, durians and compost bins to raise funds for Mohd Shafiq. We also started a “A prayer for Mohd Shafiq” campaign where donors are encouraged to write a message to him on a scroll which we will present to him on our next visit. The overall response was very good. We collected RM985 in cash (including from small children) and we netted about RM700 from the sale of the products mentioned above. We shall be sending a total of RM1,700 to Mohd Shafiq shortly.

Hau Kiang who designed and donated the Shafiq banner came and spent some time with us. Aunty Hatiah also came to visit and lend support. The good response to our stall was also due the constant publicity given by the MC, Mr Suresh, who kept urging the crowd to visit the “Mohd Shafiq” stall. Many thanks, Suresh.
