What A Carnival in SS19! See What You Missed!

The 19 One Carnival which took place on Sunday, 17th July 2011 at Jalan SS 19/1, Subang Jaya was a great success. We were blessed with very good weather and a great turnout from our residents and friends from around the neighbourhood. There were numerous food stalls, non-food stalls, demonstrations by Alam Flora, PDRM, Bomba, Chi Dynamics and My Animal Care, an animal care activist group.

Some Warm Up Moves!

Kat and I setup a stall to sell various herbal plants, soya milk, honey, durians and compost bins to raise funds for Mohd Shafiq. We also started a “A prayer for Mohd Shafiq” campaign where donors are encouraged to write a message to him on a scroll which we will present to him on our next visit. The overall response was very good. We collected RM985 in cash (including from small children) and we netted about RM700 from the sale of the products mentioned above. We shall be sending a total of RM1,700 to Mohd Shafiq shortly.

Having a Good Time
Hau Kiang who designed and donated the Shafiq banner came and spent some time with us. Aunty Hatiah also came to visit and lend support. The good response to our stall was also due the constant publicity given by the MC, Mr Suresh, who kept urging the crowd to visit the “Mohd Shafiq” stall. Many thanks, Suresh.
