The Hari Raya gathering at Rahimah’s open house on 18th Sept was a distinctive segregation of drivers (confined to the right side of the veranda of the house) and the bosses comfortably seated on the left side. This was also a gathering of top athletes of ASI 66/67 namely Ramlah, Ah Nya and Rahimah who together with the late Evelyn was ASI’s most formidable 4x100 metres relay team (no kidding you).
The others on the bosses table were Pek Chin (making first appearance in our gatherings), Pek Hooi (HK’s boss), Assunta (Merlyn’s boss), Aishah (Sarkawi’s boss), Datin Norlian (Datuk Azmi’s boss), Ah Kat (my boss) together with Puteri Rashidah and the evergreen Hatiah Annuar (today she wore a very flashy purple dress).
On the other end of the veranda are the drivers….namely me, Hau Kiang, Merlyn, Yeap (Pek Chin’s),Datuk Dr Azmi,(Norlian's), Ahmad Sarkawi (our lead singer),Yow Kam Loong (our golden dragon), and Yew Sen (our server and distributor)….Yew Sen was serving and distributing cookies to the drivers all the time…. we just sat and ate and ate….keep up the good work, Yew Sen.
The mee rebus was just superb (Sarkawi had 3 big servings!!) and the cheesecake plus the coffee (Ah Nya….thanks for ordering the coffee) was really exquisite (but one serving of the cheesecake was really not enough).
Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves. Many thanks to you Rahimah and Abdullah…..we look forward to many more………………………..mee rebus, cheesecake, coffee, etc.

Envy, envy! Sorry to have missed the event (the company and the food, not necessarily in that order!). Catch you the next time I can make it to KL?
