Celebration Dinner for 'Uncle' on October 02, 2012

On 2nd October 2012, a group of Andersonians, consisting of members of the former Organising Committee for the Selvamany biography launch, hosted a private dinner in honour of Uncle Selvamany being conferred an honorary PhD in Education by the University of Malaya. The dinner held at the Heritage Room of the Royal Selangor Golf Club, KL was indeed a night to remember.

The “Andersonians Forever” band led by Dato’ Ghazali Yusoff and his brother, Ahmad Ramli, and good friend Aksan was in attendance (including our lead singer Ahmad Sarkawi).

Our history teacher, Eddy Chin dedicated 2 special songs to Uncle Selvamany.

After the dinner, Tan Sri Sallehuddin presented Uncle Selvamany with a photo framed picture of the Convocation ceremony on 1st October.

This was followed by a very emotional speech by our new “Sifu” (read the Citation) that brought tears to many present at the dinner.

As before (the biography launch), our not so virgin MC (now “professional”) Dato Salleh was in top form. The MC ended the dinner in a glorious mood after he shared with everyone how the word MISSISSIPI is being spelt by 2 Italians.

Before we dispersed, we had a group photo taken at the lobby of the RSGC. This private dinner was jointly sponsored by Tan Sri Nuraizah Hamid, Puan Sri Raja Noora Ashikin and Dato’ Salleh Yeop…….many thanks to you all. Also, kudos goes to our technical manager, TS Hau Kiang for arranging this special dinner event….a really memorable night.
