On the Saturday morning of 30th April, Hatiah took us to the Terrace Cafe of Hotel UITM, the hotel and catering training school of UITM for breakfast.
There we enjoyed the delicious spread of local and western breakfast. Later, Hatiah confided to us that this joint is owned by a friend (boyfriend?) and that whenever she comes to the Cafe, she will be the first to arrive and the last to leave the place (First In, Last Out Principle....did she learned this in Accounting?). So, if you are looking for a cozy place for a relaxing breakfast, do contact Hatiah and it is 50% off for senior citizens (all of us qualify by now)....sometimes Hatiah can negotiate for 100% discount. No harm trying.

"Vice-Captain" Leads Paul in Batu Road Shift!
On the evening of Friday 29th April, we decided to take Paul on a night tour of KL.....the green district area as well as the red lights district area (my boss came along also....so no hanky panky business).
We started off with a western meal at the Coliseum Cafe and Hotel in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (see how Paul dressed up like a baby). After dinner we adjourned to the nearby A&W outlet for some root beer which Paul missed so much...(was he dating Lilian there then?).We strolled along this famous Batu Road (in front only) and Paul was trying to locate famous shops like the Globe Silk Store, Kamdar, GS Gill, etc. Later we took a brief drive through the main areas of KL that Paul could remember......Jalan Ampang, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Campbell, Jalan Kuching, etc.
Of course we stopped by to photograph the night view of the KLCC Twin Towers.

Do You Know Our Singing Coach?
On the morning of 28th April, we (Paul, Hau Kiang and me) had breakfast with Eddy Chin at the Syed Restaurant near my house. Paul and Eddy spent about an hour reminiscing old times and current times before we left for the historic karaoke session at the Royal Lake Club and Eddy went to teach at the Calvary Church in KL.

We Can Sing Too!
Our first ever karaoke session on 28th April at the Royal Lake Club was a most enjoyable event (even for those who did not sing). About 13 of us attended the historic karaoke cum lunch held in conjunction with Paul Chong’s visit. The surprise visitor was Fook Leong who sneaked in from Singapore just to be with us (but sadly did not sing at all).
The karaoke event revealed the many hidden talents of Andersonians (especially the 66/67 Arts group). Our geography and form teacher, Paul started the session with a rendition of “FOR THE GOOD TIMES” (what an appropriate introduction) and many other oldies after that. The ASI school song lead singer, Ahmad Sarkawi turned out to be the star performer with him grabbing the mike most of the time….and as he sings, his hands and legs shakes as well. Another surprise performer was Sor Hwa who seems to be able to sing most of the songs….is this due to his daily meditation? The MC of the event has a collection of more than 2000 songs…..so no wonder Hau Kiang is an all-rounder as well. WAK’s singing, although commendable, probably needs some further voice training from Eddie Chin.
Amongst the ladies, Choon Yee was rather suave and gentle in her singing. My boss was disappointed that she could sing her favourite Mandarin song (no kidding you!)…..and Hatiah? Wow, she can sing and eat chocolate and also video tape with her mobile phone and sing at the same time….Australian multi-tasking skills?
The bystanders (non-singers) also enjoyed the karaoke session as much as the singers…..this included Eng Hock, Fook Leong, Gek Kim, Eng Yee and myself. I really enjoyed videotaping the whole session (almost).
After 2 hours of non-stop singing and with their lung qi almost depleted, the group adjourned to the poolside for some nourishment and further chatter. The group later parted company at about 3.30 pm.
The next karaoke session will be a roaring one.

Warming Up for Golf Major.......on April 26, 2011
In the late afternoon of Tuesday 26th April, the weather was sunny and beautiful. So I suggested to Paul that we should go to the driving range in Subang Jaya to practise our golf skills in preparation for a game with the Greg Norman of Malaysia scheduled for Wednesday 27th April at the RSGC, KL. However our practice was cut short by a sudden downpour accompanied by thunder and lightning. If you are wondering who is the Greg Norman of Malaysia, watch this space for further details......meantime see how serious Paul is in the gearing up.

Preparing for Golf Major with Visit to Girlies Barn......on April 25, 2011
On Monday 25th April after Paul came back from Taiping /Ipoh and rested,we went over to the Subang Parade to have lunch with Hau Kiang and later visited Girlies Barn, the trendy fashion outlet owned by Sherliza....WAK's eldest girl. We met up and chatted with Azizah....WAK's boss at the shop. WAK was busy attending to some business clients from India at that moment. Later in the afternoon, Merlyn came over to my house for tea and to meet Paul.
