Breaking News.......July 25, 2010

This post is left intentionally 'blank'__________________ for those of you who made the trip to Ipoh today to make whatever comments they want (they can email me their comments and posting will be made) and also for those who could not be with us today (for whatever reasons they may have!). Also, 'Blogger' is at a loss for words after today's journey!! Be on the look-out for latest pictures! Many thanks for today's happenning!

Lailatool Badariah.......

Sek Yee & the 'Boss' dropped into 'Valencia' to visit Lailatool and "Ah Kow" (another mystery guy) who now have 6 grandchildren to look after! Mondays thru' fridays .......the grandma cooks and the grandpa bath the kids, play with them and then puts them to rest, runs errands,etc.......looks like "Ah Kow" has more duties to perform. Although technically they are "free" on weekends, they still go over to their children' place to visit the "cucus" (they all stay in the vicinity)

With Lailatool, an excellent cook by his side, no wonder our "Ah Kow" is grinning from ear to ear!

We are all looking as young as we were in 1967!

Anderson School....100 Yrs Celebration Dinner in 2009!

This was in February 2009: Datuk Seri Selvamany and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. Wong Poh Lam were all there! WAK was on our table but he was not around most of the time!

Khadijah's brother Amir Sulaiman(old Andersonian also)was there as well and the young boy is Amir's son who is in Form 3 this year;The young boy was so keen to attend the dinner when he discovered that we were attending and Datuk Seri was so fascinated to see such a young student there.....hence Datuk Seri insisted on taking a special photo with him......his name is Mikhail Sulaiman!

At Batu Ferringhi Beach, Penang....... April 1968

This was a trip we made to Penang between April 02 - 05, 1968! Must have been after our Exams! Choy Foong - need I say who was the naughty guy during our Sixth Form days? This is an 'undoctored' picture as evidence!

Chin Fook Leong........Anderson's 'Top Cop' in Singapore!

Here he is seen in his 'neatly pressed' uniform welcoming his Malaysian visitors to Singapore during his service with the Singapore Police; Does he look 'fierce' enough? According to Fook Leong, it is his public persona to look 'fierce' but is actually a nice (and naughty?)guy within! We believe you Sir! And did you notice in the picture, the Police all have the same pose... right hand in pocket (maybe they do have a gun in there?) and left hand in 'ever ready' position to strike! Hmm... must learn this new 'cat walk' style! Have a good week end everybody!

Hi Andersonians of '66/'67! Some of us have not met our teacher extraordinaire since then, so please make extra efforts to be with us in Ipoh on July 25, 2010 for the day trip if you are from Kuala Lumpur! You can come by sea, air or land - only be with us to meet our 'Tokoh Guru Malaysia' or 'Tokoh Guru Economics' to many of us! This is the happening of the year!

Chin Fook Leong.....and the Art of Non-Answer!

I was Head PR cum Press Secretary to the Minister for Home Affairs.
I was on secondment to the Ministry of Home Affairs (1986-89). Here I learnt how to reply to the public/press complaints and queries without really answering their queries……and from the experience I gained from this job, I later took over the SIN Police Public Affairs Dept as its Director.

Chin Fook Leong......A long time ago

This is the “ Gang of 4” in 1967. Look at the “obiang” specs worn by them then!! But where is Thoo Poh Yik now? He seems to have disappeared. He was in SIN (1971 or so) but went back after he resigned from SIA. Can anyone locate him? (And can you all imagine that Chin Fook Leong was to later become a top cop in Singapore?)


Pictured below is the gang of 4 in 'work uniform' but minus Thoo Poh Yik! In his place is Ahmad Sharkawi; (Even then Poh Yik could disappear at will, what more now??)

My recent CAMEL (stands for "Can't A Man Enjoy Life")assignment! In Dubai of course and not Singapore where I now live with my family.

Wong Poh Lam and "Mr Rose Chan" came to KL to attend a tax conference ( right in the middle of the World Cup semi-finals?? - must be a very taxing for both of them!.) A few of us then got together for dinner in Bangsar where Pit Loo and Rashidan stays.....Wu Sor Wah came along together with the regulars, Hau Kiang and Merlyn as well as Poh Lam's three daughters,Geraldine,Sharon and Karen. However 'Mr. Rose Chan' shall remain anonymous to all Andersonians '66/'67!
