Paul's First Day in Ipoh........on April 18th., 2011
At the railway station we had a photo shoot of the Ipoh tree, the station building and the old Town Hall building across the road. Then we drove up Brewster Road, down Hugh Low Street into Belfied Street. We got out at Ipoh padang for a walkabout. He took shots of SMI and Ipoh Club.
After that it was to the Old Andersonians Club for teh tarik while waiting for Pretam to turn up for lunch. He did at 12.45 pm. We went over first to Anderson School, said hello to the Pengetua and his senior assistant. Then we walked about the first floor and ground floor, and out into the padang for another photo shoot. We got hold of some school boys to take the pictures. After that back to the Club house for banana leaf lunch. Paul had an amazing appetitte. It must have been all that exercise !
Then we drove down Tiger Lane to Kampar Road. We found Paul's old house in Mansion Park where he lived for a number of years before he moved to KL. Plenty of nostalgia for him.
His mind is crystal clear. Good hearing. Only that he has restricted peripheral vision in both eyes but it can't be that bad - he says he still plays golf in Perth.
